Susan is a therapist and Nationally Certified Counselor, specializing in working with children and adolescents. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the Townsend Institute, where she studied the Competence & Character Growth Model, integrating the latest in neuroscience and evidence-based therapeutic interventions with a foundation of Christian faith and Biblical principles.
She expanded her knowledge base of mental health diagnoses, completing her practicum and internship at Peninsula Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic. Susan has focused her treatment on helping children and families work through resolving symptoms of trauma and building skills for increased attachment and cohesion. Prior to private practice, Susan worked as a Level 3 Clinical therapist for youth placed in therapeutic foster homes. She has specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and has completed all requirements for the LPC-MHSP credential. Susan works under the clinical supervision of Jodi Clarke, MA, LPC-MHSP.
