About Jodi
Jodi is a licensed therapist (TN & FL), a state-approved clinical supervisor (TN), and the founder of Grace Counseling Associates. Jodi is passionate about her work and motivated by the desire to help people lead fulfilling, connected, and emotionally healthy lives.

Jodi has been in private practice for 20 years. Beginning her pre-licensure work in the counseling field in 1998, she has extensive experience working with trauma, having served clients early in her career in the areas of addiction recovery, high-risk clients in the juvenile justice system, domestic violence offenders and survivors, sexual abuse offenders and survivors, as well as eating disordered clients and more. Noting that much of what brought people to counseling involved the experience of deep relational wounds, she became dedicated to learning how to help individuals, couples, and families heal hurting relationships. She has trained in multiple counseling models over the years. She incorporates traditional evidence-based counseling models into her work, primarily Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Jodi has completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFIT), Couples (EFCT), and Families (EFFT). She has also completed training in IFS for Individuals and for Couples (Intimacy from the Inside Out).

Through her clinical work and personal experience, Jodi understands and is passionate about the healing of the whole person, not simply correcting unhealthy behaviors or finding "better ways to cope." We were created to live full and wholehearted lives. However, most of us have experienced painful events that have taught us to protect our hearts, to find ways to cope with the challenges of life, and to try to avoid pain. Jodi incorporates Dodd's Paradigm of Recovery and the Spiritual Root System (SRS) in her work with clients, Christian recovery and healing frameworks developed by Dr. Chip Dodd. She has trained with Dr. Dodd and his team at the Voice of the Heart Center in Murfreesboro, TN, and continues to do so.

Jodi enjoys an engaged and collaborative approach to her work with clients as they gain clarity, experience healing of emotional and relational wounds, and find renewed hope in their lives and relationships. She is deeply honored to earn the trust of her clients and walk with them through the joys and pains of their experiences.

In addition to clinical work, Jodi has previously been a contributing writer for Verywell Health on topics related to self-growth, relationships, and emotional wellness. She has also taught undergraduate psychology courses and been a guest presenter in graduate level Counselor Education courses at the University of Tennessee.

Jodi has been married for 23 years, has two grown sons, and cherishes time spent with family and friends.
